Perception Cards and Teacher's Manual

Basic readers, on the "story" method, in which a jingle is followed by a complete story, brimming over with interest, humor and action, and well adapted for dramatization. The illustrations are unusually attractive and abundant.

Educational Foundations for 1914-1915

WILLIAM CHARLES O'DONNELL, Jr., Editor

CLAYTON SEDGWICK COOPER, Contributing Editor

To Our Friends Everywhere

Here begins the second quarter century of life.

The twenty-sixth year will be an epochal one-unless all plans go astray and all signs fail.

Without departing from the high journalistic and pedagogical standards of the past, we have sought to enrich and to diversify this volume so that Educational Foundations may justly claim to be the leading magazine of Professional and Literary Interest.

For instance:

FOR ALL EDUCATORS

CLAYTON SEDGWICK COOPER, our new contributing editor, has, in all probability, a clearer world-view of education than any writer in the field today. He has traveled so extensively, and has investigated so many institutions of learning in this and foreign lands that he is able to group facts of universal interest in a most convincing manner. In a series of special articles Mr. Cooper will give us a broad survey of the world's work along educational lines. These articles will be the event of the year in the realm of educational journalism.

HENRY STERLING CHAPIN, the organizer and director of our ModelStore-Keeping-Method of Instruction for Elementary Schools, is a capable and versatile man of wide experience and is profoundly interested in practical methods of education. His monthly contributions on this vital subject will be a unique and stimulating feature.

MARY ELEANOR KRAMER will continue her Literary Snap Shots and her One Thousand Literary Queries. These departments were immensely popular last year.

THE EDUCATIONAL AUTHOR SERIES. The best known and most successful writers of text books in the country will contribute to our pages articles on the subjects of their special interest.

And these items are only "for instance."

Lessons in Pedagogy-Questions and Answers-Educational Foundations Normal Reading and Study Course are among the more familiar departments of recognized helpfulness to teachers.

The subscription rate, $1.25 per year, will be continued for the present. Any paid up subscriber may secure a subscription for a friend at the special rate of $1.00 for the first year.

Foreign postage 20c extra; Canadian postage 10c extra.
