1740,) and the 20th Day of February (the Day of the Anniversary Meeting of the Society in the Year 1740-1741 particularized, and given Thanks for in the Abftract of that Year, amount to the Sum Total of Fourteen hundred and feventy fix 1476 1 Pounds, one Shilling and fix Pence (not including in this general Account the Sum of Five hundred Pounds, the Legacy of the late Right Honourable Lady Elizabeth Haftings, together with fix Pounds five Shillings Intereft for the fame, paid by her Ladyship's Executrixes, the Right Honourable the Ladies Ann, and Frances Haftings, because appropriated both Principal, and Intereft by the Will of the deceased Lady towards the Maintenance of one, or more Bishops, to be fettled in the English Plantations in America) are all the Benefactions to the general Purposes of the Society, which are accounted for in the Audit of the Year 1741.

The Society acknowledges alfo the Receipt, and returns their most hearty Thanks for the following Presents of Books.

For 12 Dozen Copies of the Bible, 12 Dozen Copies of the Book of Common Prayer, and 18 Dozen Copies of the Whole Duty of Man from a Gentleman unknown by the Hands of Meffieurs Mount, and Page, Stationers on Tower-bill.

For 1500 Copies of a Book intitled, The Knowledge, and Practice of Christianity made Eafy, or, An Efay towards an Inftruction for the Indians. This excellent little Treatife was compofed, and lately published by the Lord Bishop of Sodor, and Man, on purpofe to promote the good Defigns

of the Society; and they have given the Right Reverend Author their Thanks for his most useful, and pious Labours therein. And several worthy Perfons, having fent to the Reverend Dr. Wilson, Son of the Lord Bishop of Man, Money to purchase a large Number of this Treatife to be fent to the Miffionaries, Catechifts, and Schoolmasters in all the British Dominions in America, to be given away, and placed by them in proper Hands to promote Chriftian Knowledge; at the Request of Dr. Wilson their Names, with their feveral Benefactions from June 1741, to February 19, 1741-2, are here published.

Some of all theseBooks have been already sent, and will continue to be fent to the Society's Miffionaries, Catechifts, and Schoolmasters in America, as Opportunity offers, and Occafion requires.

For an 100 Copies of the Lord Bishop of Bangor's Sermon, preached in the Church of St. Maryle-Bow London, March 18, 1740-41, before the Society in London, correfponding with the Incorporated Society in Dublin for promoting English Proteftant Working-Schools in Ireland, from the faid Society.

For 50 Copies of the Lord Bishop of St. Asaph's Sermon, preached in Chrift-Church London, April 30, 1741, at the Anniversary Meeting of the Children Educated in the Charity-Schools in and about London, from the Society for promoting ChriStian Knowledge.

The Sum Total of all these Benefactions, and yet a much larger Sum, hath been paid away this Year in Salaries, and for Books to the Society's Miffionaries, Catechifts, and Schoolmafters, whofe Names, with their refpective Salaries and Places of Settlement, are as follow.
