The Secretary will attend at the Rooms of the Literary and Philosophical Society, Newcastle-upon Tyne, on Monday, the 2nd day of October, and each succeeding day, at Eleven o'clock A. M, for the purpose of registering students and receiving the fees. The Professors will require the attendance of Students in the Lecture Room of the Literary and Philosophical Society, on the 7th of October, from Nine A M. to noon, in order to arrange the respective classes. INAUGURAL ADDRESSES, open to the general public, will be given in the I ecture Room of the Literary and Philosophical Society, on Monday, the 9th; Tuesday, the 10th; Weduesday, the 11th; and Thursday, the 12th of October, at Eight o'clock each evening. After which the successful candidates for the Exhibitions will be named. A Luncheon will be served at Three o'clock. SCHOOL-OPEN SCHOLARSHIP AND EXHIBITION IN NATU. RAL SCIENCE. A SCHOLARSHIP of the value of £40, tenable for three years, and an EXHIBITION of the value of £20, for one year, will be awarded by open competitive Examination in Natural Science, at St. Mary's Medical School, on September 26th and following days. Any person will be eligible as a candidate who has passed an Examination qualifying him to register as a Medical Student provided he has not previously completed a full year of medical study at a recognised Hospital. Candidates are requested to call personally upon the Dean at the School on Monday, Sept. 25th, between the hours of 3 and 5 P.M., and to bring with them a certificate of having passed the required preliminary Examination.
