She married Colonel Daniel Parke Custis, son of John Custis of Arlington, at the age of seventeen. They had three children. The oldest son died at a young age and his father died soon after. She married George Washington in 1759 and they made their home at Mount Vernon, Fairfox County, Virginia. She died in 1802. |
