ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS

The annual meetings of the association foster an interchange of informa tion and ideas among evening college deans and directors representing over 150 accredited colleges and universities in the United States and Carada Regional meetings of AUEC members are conducted at various times during the year in some 12 geographical areas, under the leadership of regional chairmen. Committees of the association conduct numerous studies for the members, furnishing useful data for the improvement of instruction, teacher selection and training, curriculum building, guidance and counseling, administrative practices, and services for the community.

A newsletter which reports up-to-date developments in the area of col legiate education for adults, is published eight times a year; the annual volume of proceedings provides a summary of the discussions and papers presented at the November convention.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership in the association may be institutional, associate, or contributing Applications for institutional membership will be accepted from institutions of higher learning that grant baccalaureate degrees and which have one or more evening divisions whose credit programs lead to, or are transferable toward such degrees. The institution must be accredited by its regional accrediting associa tion. To be eligible for associate membership, an individual must hold a major administrative position in an evening division of a member institution, or be a former institutional representative who wishes to renew membership after charg ing his status. Contributing memberships are open to individuals or organizations interested in supporting the activities of the association.

Annual dues for institutional members are $55; for associate members $15; and for contributing members, a minimum of $10.

Two affiliates of the association are: (1) The Center for the Study of Liberal Education for Adults. For information, address Dr. A. A.
