This very rare volume, dedicated to Dr. Wm. Sancroft, contains most of the old English Psalm tunes harmonised in four parts, and set to various metrical versions. Some of the translations signed G. H. are believed to be by GEORGE HERBERT, and this is their first appearance in print.

A most important book in the history of Psalmody, for this Flemish version of the Psalms set to popular airs preceded all the Protestant translations. The author was Van Zuylan van Nyeveld. It is the second book containing musical notation printed in the Netherlands. This appears to be No. VI in Dr. Scheurleer's list of issues.

This extremely rare Collection of Instrumental Music from Purcell's Operas and Musical Plays was published by his widow shortly after his death. The four parts (first and second violin, tennor and bassus) are seldom found together and complete.
