Is it so, reader? Then pause and think upon it, for verily influence remains not only with the great and gifted, like to these, but, in varying degrees, with all of us. Let us, then, be careful of two things, that in our character-building, whether for stately temple or cottage home, according to our means and space, we look well to our line. Also, since our echoes must pass, let us take care that our trumpets give not forth either a harsh or an uncertain sound; for, though by reason of earth's many noises, and our own insignificance, the other players on life's orchestra may not heed whence the discord ariseth, the great Master of Harmonies will; and He will bate the breath, and rive the harp strings, which, in even so much as single notes, have been used to spoil His world of harmony. Not only through the corridors of Time, but also into the infinitely multitudinous centres of an unknown eternity, do we believe that
