RAVAUD K. RODGERS, D.D., took the chair. The second Vice-President, REV. SAMUEL M. HAMILL, D.D., was also present. MR. DAVID A. HAYES, the Recording Secretary, presented the minutes of the last meeting, which were read and approved. MR. WILLIAM A. WHITEHEAD, Corresponding Secretary, made a report of the correspondence of the Society since January, and presented letters of acceptance from a number of gentlemen elected to resident membership; and from the Hon. Teunis G. Bergen, of Long Island, N. Y., and the Rev. William Stevens Perry, D.D., acknowledging their election as Honorary Members. The Historical Societies of Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Haven Colony, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Georgia, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota, the Essex Massachusetts Institute, New England Historic and Genealogical Society, Smithsonian Institute, and New Jersey State Librarian, acknowledged the receipt of the Society's recent publications. From the superintendents of the Coast Survey; the Rev. C. D. Bradlee, of Boston; and the Mercantile Library Association; Mr. William Vanderpool, of Newark, and Mr. William Nelson, of Paterson, were letters |
