[2 The great Invisible! He dwells
Conceal'd in dazling light;
But his all-fearching eye reveals
The fecrets of the night.

3 Those watchful eyes that never fleep,
Survey the world around;

His wisdom is a boundless deep,

Where all our thoughts are drown'd.] [4 Speak we of ftrength? his arm is strong, To fave or to destroy;

Infinite years his life prolong,

And endless is his joy.]

[ He knows no fhadow of a change,
Nor alters his decrees;

Firm as a rock his truth remains
To guard his promises.]
[6 Sinners before his prefence die;
How holy is his name!
His anger and his jealousy

Burn like devouring flame.]
[7_Justice upon a dreadful throne

Maintains the rights of God;
While mercy fends her pardons down,
Bought with a Saviour's blood.
8 Now to my foul, Immortal King,
Speak fome forgiving word;
Then 'twill be double joy to fing
The glories of my Lord.

HYMN

HYMN XI.

Part of Pfalm cvi. for Sunday-Evening.

To St. Luke's Tune; or, as the 100 Pfalm.

Render thanks to God above,

The fountain of Eternal Love;
Whose mercy firm, through ages paft,
Has ftood, and fhall for ever laft.
Who can his mighty deeds exprefs,
Not only vaft, but numberless?
What mortal eloquence can raife,
His tribute of immortal praife?
Happy are they, and only they,
Who from thy Judgments never ftray,
Who know what's right, not only fo,
But always practise what they know.
Extend to me that favour, Lord,
Thou to thy chofen doft afford;
When thou return'ft to fet them free,
Let thy falvation visit me.

O may I worthy prove to fee
Thy faints in full profperity;
That I the joyful choir may joyn,
And count thy peoples triumph mine.

All Glory to the Sacred Three,
One Undivided DEITY;
As it has been in ages gone,
May now and ever ftill be done.

Meditation in a Grove. By Dr.Watts..

Swe

I.

Weet mufe, descend and bless the fhade,
And blefs the evening grove;

Bufinefs, and noife, and day are fled,

And ev'ry care, but love.

II.

But hence, ye wanton young and fair,
Mine is a purer flame;

No Phillis fhall infect the air,
With her unhallow'd name.

III.

JESUS has all my powers poffeft,
My hopes, my fears, my joys:
He, the dear fov'reign of my breaft,
Shall ftill command my voice.

IV.

Some of the faireft choirs above
Shall flock around my fong,
With joy to hear the name they love
Sound from a mortal tongue.

V.

His charms fhall make my numbers flow,
And hold the falling floods,

While filence fits on every bough,
And bends the lift'ning woods.
