For I have not bunned to declare unto you all the Counsel of God. Take Heed therefore unto your felves, and to all the Flock, over the which the Holy Ghost bath made you Overfeers, to feed the Church of God, which he hath purchafed with his own Blood: For I know this, that after my Departing fball grievous Wolves enter in among you, not fparing the Flock. Also of your own felves fhall Men arise, speaking perverse Things, to draw away Difciples after them. Therefore watch, and remember that by the Space of three Years, I ceafed not to warn every one Night and Day with Tears. And now, Brethren, I commend you to God, and to the Word of his Grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an Inheritance among all them which are fanctified. I have coveted no Man's Silver, or Gold, or Apparel. Yea, you your felves know, that thefe Hands have miniftred unto my Neceffities, and to them that were with me. I have fhewed you all Things, how that fo labouring ye ought to fupport the Weak; and to remember the Words of the Lord Jefus, how he faid, It is more bleffed to give than to receive.

THIS awful Charge, deliver'd as the laft and dying Words of the Apostle to the Elders at Ephefus, but equally belonging to, and affecting the Minifters of the Gofpel in every Age of the Church, ought to be weighed and greatly ponder'd by all fuch as defire the Profperity of the

Church of Chrift, and the Exaltation of his Kingdom and Government in the World, which is the Prevalence of the Holy Ghost in the Hearts of Men. Under a Senfe of the great Want and Neceffity of this, we believe, the pious Author of the Whole Duty of Man, writ the following weighty Expreffions in his Prayer for the Peace of the Church.

O LORD JESUS, let thy Spirit ftretch out it ⚫ felf upon these Waters of evil wavering Opinions. And because Thy Spirit, which, according to Thy Prophet's Saying, containeth all Things, hath alfo the Science of Speaking; make that like as unto all them which be of Thy House, is One Light, One Baptifm, One God, One Hope, • One Spirit, fo they may also have One Voice, One Note, One Song, profeffing One Catholick TRUTH.
