THE issue of the present Number completes the Second Volume of our MAGAZINE, and again imposes on us the pleasant task of a brief communing with our Readers. Pleasant indeed it is, for we feel that we are surrounded with friends, who look back with us with thankfulness on another year of hallowed labour. We on our part have a grateful account to give of encouragement and sympathy; to tell of many a distant channel through which our Pages find their way, and to know that even amongst far-off dependencies of "the Empire on which the Sun never sets," there are Teachers who know and value the " Church Sunday School Quarterly." Earnestly do we trust that our Readers on their part are able to tell of a growing delight in their work, more Prayer, more Diligence, more Love, more Faith, more Success. We have spoken of an Empire on which the Sun never sets-may God grant that on us all the Sun of his Countenance may never set; nor sin, nor unbelief, rise as a cloud to intercept those life-giving rays, but |
