Treaty of Amiens (1802) between England on the one side, and France, Spain and Holland on the other. By it, 1. England restored to France and her allies all conquests made by her during the war, except Trinidad taken from Spain, and the Dutch possessions in Ceylon; 2. The independence of the Ionian Islands was recognized by France; 3. Egypt was restored to the Porte; 4. France engaged to evacuate Naples and the Papal States, and England whatever posts she occupied in the Mediterranean and the Adriatic; 5. England was to give up Malta to the Knights of St. John.

Treaty of Paris (1814) between France on the one side, and Austria, Russia, Great Britain and Prussia on the other. By it, 1. The limits of France were declared to be the same as they were on January 1, 1792; 2. The navigation of the Rhine was declared free; 3. Holland was placed under the sovereignty of the House of Orange; 4. The states of Germany were to be united into an independent federation; 5. Switzerland was to continue independent; 6. Italy, with the exception of what belonged to Austria, was to consist of sovereign states; 7. Malta was restored to Great Britain; 8. England restored to France all colonies which France had possessed in 1792, with the exception of the islands of Tobago, St. Lucia, on the Isle of France; 9. France ceded to Spain the French portion of the Island of St. Domingo, and received back Guadaloupe from Sweden, and French Guiana from Portugal.

Treaty of Vienna (1815) between Austria, Spain, France, Great Britain, Portugal, Prussia, Russia and Sweden. This was the last general settlement of the affairs of Europe.
