Chicago Charities Directory. This directory gives information about all the agencies in the city, religious or secular, which give aid to the sick, destitute, delinquent and defective. It includes beneficial societies, educational institutions for special training, temperance, and humane societies, social settlements, libraries, reading rooms, museums, clubs, churches, missionary societies; federal, state, county, and municipal boards and departments; protective leagues, day nurseries, juvenile courts, etc. This directory will suggest particular sources of information where special study is desired, and an application to the agencies enumerated will enable one to secure special publications and information not found in the city libraries.

The School of Civics and Philanthropy, 158 Adams St., is a valuable source of information on all these topics. It aims to keep on file all the publications of the organizations mentioned above.
