WHEREAS, There is great complaint made by the farmers in this state who are engaged in wheat growing, that the brass tester commonly called the "brass kettle," in common use by the purchasers of wheat, has been so used as to depreciate the grade of wheat and thereby resulting in great pecuniary loss to the farmers; and,

WHEREAS, A large number of the citizens of the state have petitioned the legislature for some relief; therefore be it

Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That a committee of five, consisting of two members of the senate and three from the assembly, be appointed to inquire into the cause of complaint, and report by bill a remedy for the same, if found practi

cable.

Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That joint rules 16 and 17 be and the same are hereby amended so as to read as follows:

16. After a bill has passed both houses, the chief clerk of the house in which it originated shall cause it to be correctly printed upon bond paper of good quality, the size of the sheet and of the printed page to correspond as near as may be with bills as heretofore enrolled, and no other enrolling thereof shall be necessary.

17. When a bill has been printed as provided in the preceding rule, it shall be examined by the committees of the two houses on enrolled bills, acting jointly, who shall carefully compare the printed copy with the engrossed bill as passed in the two houses, and cause any errors that may be discovered therein to be corrected, and a perfect copy to be printed. A perfect printed copy of the bill shall then be by the committee reported to the house in which the bill originated, and shall thenceforth be the enrolled bill.
