The mean temperature of May, 1859, was 3078 above the average of 20 years, and
it was the warmest May but one (1846) during that period.

The Resultant Direction and Velocity of the Wind for the month of May, from 1848 to 1859 inclusive, were respectively N. 4° E., and 1.34 miles.
